Ergotron built this one for two monitors. The work surface is 37.5 inches wide and the lift range is 15 inches. Constant Force technology means the platform floats: touch it, move it, let go, and it stays. No handles, no levers, no motor. Capacity is 35 pounds across the top and the keyboard tray. This is office grade hardware for people who change position many times a day. Tension has to be set once with the screws under the platform, otherwise the top drifts. Two drawbacks are the price and the size: it is one of the most expensive converters and it needs a deep, sturdy desk. For a single laptop it is far too much machine.
