Prooffeed is an international review platform built on community-driven rankings. The editorial team defines the catalog of topics: from VPN services and banks to dental clinics and coffee shops, across 137 categories in 18 subject groups. The order of companies within each ranking is not set by the editors: it is determined by registered users through voting and reviews.
The platform operates in 16 language versions. Each version is an independent ecosystem: its rankings feature companies relevant to that audience, and votes cast in one language version do not affect the others. This structure allows Prooffeed to reflect real local markets rather than a single global average.
Every position in a ranking carries a score. A vote in favor increases the score, a vote against decreases it, and positions are ordered by the resulting value. Voting requires a registered account; each user holds one vote per position and may change or withdraw it at any time. Recalculation is immediate: rankings always reflect the current state of community opinion.
The score model includes two refinements. First, votes are weighted by the author's reputation: users with a substantial history of helpful reviews carry up to three times the weight of a standard vote. This rewards demonstrated expertise while a strict cap prevents any group of users from dominating a ranking. Second, star reviews contribute to positions: ratings of 4 and 5 stars add to a company's standing, ratings of 1 to 3 stars subtract from it. The total influence of reviews is limited to a fixed share of the leader's score, so reviews refine the picture but can never override direct votes.
When two positions hold an equal score, the editorial order applies as a tiebreaker. No other factors, including commercial ones, participate in the calculation.
Each user may publish one review per company or product: a rating from 1 to 5 stars accompanied by a text describing their experience. A rating without text is also accepted; it is counted in the average score and in ranking calculations, but is not displayed as a quotation. The average rating and the full review history are shown on the company card.
Reviews are ordered by usefulness rather than by date alone. The sorting model accounts for reader votes on the "Helpful" button, the freshness of the review, the reputation of its author and the presence of substantive text. Users may edit or delete their own reviews at any time; companies may publish official responses that appear directly beneath the review.
Contribution to the platform is recognized through public titles. Authors with 50 published reviews receive the "Contributor" title, 200 reviews confer "Expert" status, and 1000 reviews earn the "Legend" title. Titles are displayed next to the author's name throughout the platform and inform readers about the experience behind each review.
Reputation also affects voting power: the ranking vote of an experienced author is counted with an increased weight, up to three standard votes. Reputation cannot be purchased, transferred or accelerated by any means other than publishing reviews that readers find helpful.
At the end of each calendar year, the top 10 of every ranking is recorded in a permanent archive. Companies holding the first three places receive winner awards for that year. These awards are retained permanently and remain visible on company cards even if positions change in subsequent years.
Archived results are historical records: they are closed to further voting and serve as a verifiable snapshot of community opinion for each year of the platform's operation.
Prooffeed maintains a strict integrity policy. Fabricated accounts, coordinated voting networks, purchased reviews and undisclosed conflicts of interest constitute violations; associated content is removed and the accounts involved are restricted. Anti-fraud systems analyze account activity and flag anomalous patterns for review.
Registration, voting and review submission are protected by bot-prevention mechanisms. The platform reserves the right to annul manipulated votes and reviews without prior notice. The complete rules are published in the Community Guidelines.
Any company featured on Prooffeed may claim its card free of charge. Ownership is confirmed through technical verification: a file placed on the company's website, a DNS record or a meta tag. Verified owners can maintain the accuracy of their card's information, publish official responses to reviews and receive email notifications about new reviews.
Companies not yet listed may apply through the Add your company page. Listing is free and does not involve any paid placement options: a company's position in rankings is determined solely by community votes and reviews.
Positions in rankings are not for sale under any circumstances. Advertising placements on the platform are visually labeled, exist outside the ranking mechanics and have no effect on positions or scores. Outbound links to company websites are published with nofollow and sponsored attributes and pass no ranking weight.
The editorial team receives no compensation for including a company in a ranking, for excluding one, or for any position a company occupies. This separation between commercial and editorial activity is a founding principle of the platform.
Reports concerning ranking accuracy, suspected manipulation or incorrect company information are accepted at [email protected]. Every report is reviewed manually by the team; confirmed violations lead to content removal and account restrictions. Companies may use the same address for questions regarding card ownership and official responses.
