A Langstroth style hive with one brood box and a super fitted with six Flow Frames. The plastic cells split when the Flow Key is turned, so honey runs out through a tube while the roof stays closed. Each frame holds roughly 6.5 lb of honey, which puts a full super near 40 lb. The kit arrives in Western Red Cedar with brood frames, foundation, the key and tubing included.
Good pick for a beginner in a suburban garden who dreads the mess of an extractor, and for anyone who wants to show honey flowing to kids or guests. It costs several times more than a plain pine kit, and it does not remove the real work: inspections, mite checks and feeding still happen on schedule. Bees, suit and smoker are bought separately.
