G-Force Rift SA2020 Full Face Helmet

Brand: G-Force Racing Gear

The Rift is G-Force's budget full face lid, now sold in Snell SA2020 form after years of SA2015 versions, and it is what many club racers buy once the season budget has gone on tyres. The shell is composite, sizes cover XS to 2XL, the liner is fire retardant and removable, and the crown carries hardware points for head and neck restraint tethers. Amazon listings usually place it near the bottom of the Snell price ladder.

For a karter racing where an SA rating is accepted, it does the work without drama. Weight is the honest drawback, close to 1.6 kilograms, and ventilation is nothing like that of a purpose built kart helmet, so long summer heats feel longer. Finish matches the money: plain paint, a serviceable rather than optically remarkable shield, and an interior that wears faster than Arai or Stilo padding.

Pros

  • Snell SA2020 at entry level money
  • Sizes from XS to 2XL
  • Head restraint mounting points included
  • Fire retardant removable liner
  • Several colours stocked on Amazon

Cons

  • Close to 1.6 kg, heavy for karting
  • Modest ventilation, warm in summer
  • Plain finish and simple shield
  • Not valid where CMR is required
