A three box Langstroth stack: two deep brood boxes, one medium super and 30 wooden frames with heavy wax coated foundation. Boxes, telescoping cover capped with galvanized steel, inner cover, bottom board and entrance reducer are all dipped in beeswax, which seals the grain against rain and snow without paint. Holes are predrilled and screws are supplied, so assembly needs a screwdriver and an hour or two.
A sensible buy for a keeper who wants room to grow through the first honey flow and prefers not to paint woodenware. The wax finish darkens to amber outdoors, which some like and some do not. Tools, suit and smoker are not part of the kit, and the flat pack means the first evening goes on assembly rather than on bees.
