The 45C takes a different route to more capacity: instead of two small drums it uses a single 4 pound barrel with a wider diameter, roughly 5.75 inches across and 3.5 inches deep. Bigger diameter means a longer drop for each stone, which helps when the rough is chunky rather than pebble sized. The steel frame base runs about 6.5 by 10.25 inches, and Amazon carries a kit version bundled with grit, polish and assorted rough.
It is the sensible pick for someone tumbling stones up to about kiwi size, or for polishing larger brass and castings. Mixing in smaller material is still recommended so the load packs properly. A full 4 pound barrel is heavy and awkward to carry to the sink, the belt works harder than on a 3 pound machine, and the drum is not interchangeable with Lortone 3 pound barrels.
