Milwaukee MA957 CO2 Regulator

Brand: Milwaukee Instruments MA957

0

The MA957 is the regulator Milwaukee designed to hang off its own pH controllers. Two valves let the user read remaining cylinder contents and flow separately, with each gauge scaled in both psi and kg per square centimetre. Brass fittings, diaphragm valves, a needle valve for fine adjustment, an electronic solenoid and a bubble counter make up the package, and the solenoid comes with a roughly four foot cord.

Its natural home is a tank run by pH control rather than a timer, calcium reactors included: the controller opens the solenoid only when pH drifts high. Aquarists who want boutique machining or a dual stage body should look elsewhere, since this is a long serving industrial design rather than a modern aquascaping piece. The CO2 cylinder is not supplied.

Pros

  • Designed to run from Milwaukee pH controllers
  • Brass fittings and diaphragm valves
  • Gauges scaled in psi and kg per cm2
  • Bubble counter and solenoid included
  • Suits calcium reactors as well as plants

Cons

  • Single stage, so pressure creeps near empty
  • Dated design compared with newer rivals
  • Short solenoid cord, around four feet
  • Cylinder and tubing sold separately
