Instead of a flat deck this one is a cardboard house standing on the table. Cards slide into slots to build rooms, players peek through openings with a torch and search for details. A free app runs the story, checks answers and gives hints. One to five players, age 14 and up, about 60 to 90 minutes, priced around 35 dollars.
The clever part is that the house stays. Expansions such as Back to Tombstone and The Lost Ship cost roughly 15 dollars and reuse the same structure, so the shelf holds one box and many stories. Assembly takes a few minutes each time and small hands can bend the walls. Only two or three people can look inside at once, so a group of five will split into watchers and searchers. The app is mandatory, and the story text is short compared with narrative escape games.
