Match+ is the carbon steel competition triple that many French players grow up with. Carbon steel is softer under the hand than stainless, which is why shooters like the way it grips the ground and holds a strike. Sizes and weights follow FIPJP limits, so the buyer chooses a diameter around 71 to 76 mm and a weight to match, plus a striation pattern for grip.
The trade off is upkeep. Carbon boules rust if left wet, so they need a wipe and a light oil after play, and they gain that dark patina old players are proud of. Anyone who wants zero care should take a stainless line instead. Beginners playing twice a summer will not feel the benefit at this price.
