A steel floor safe of 1.23 cubic feet, UL classified for one hour at 1700 degrees Fahrenheit and ETL verified for 24 hours in water up to eight inches deep. It is also tested to stay shut after a 15 foot fall through a burning floor. Outside it measures 17.8 by 16.3 by 19.3 inches and weighs 87 pounds. Access is by digital keypad with a backup key, and there are four live locking bolts, a pry resistant hinge bar, an interior light and a locking drawer.
Good for a house with a lot of paper: deeds, tax files, passports, a few drives. Bolt down hardware comes in the box, and at 87 pounds it will not walk away on its own. Not for people who move often, and not a bank grade box against a determined burglar. The keypad runs on batteries, so keep the override key somewhere else in the house.
