A sonic brush with a water jet running through the middle of the head, so brushing and flossing happen in one pass. Three modes let the user brush, floss, or do both at once, and the 2.0 version added two speeds and a larger reservoir than the original. The base holds the water tank, the handle takes a flossing brush head, and the whole unit occupies about as much counter space as a coffee grinder.
The reason to buy it is compliance: people who never manage string floss usually keep up with a jet built into their brush, and it is friendly to bridges, implants and braces. The trade-offs are real. It splashes until the technique settles, the reservoir needs refilling and drying, the flossing heads cost more than plain brush heads, and it is not something to pack for a weekend away.
