One project, one small bag. The kit holds wool roving for a single sitting cat, felting needles, a foam work pad and a step by step sheet with photographs. Because the goal is one figure, the wool amounts are measured for it and there is little waste. Work time for a first cat is usually an evening, less once the poking rhythm is found.

A sensible way to test whether felting is worth the money before buying a large set. The trade off is obvious: one kit means one animal, so a family of two crafters needs two boxes. The wool is fine and shows finger marks, so the surface needs even, patient poking. Needle pricks happen, and a leather thimble is not included.
