Autodesk keeps its Fusion training open to everyone, and the furniture material is unusually thorough. The recorded furniture design workshop runs about six hours across several sessions: industrial design and sculpting for the shape, parametric modelling aimed at production, then shop drawings and manufacturing notes. Around it sit self paced tutorials in the learning centre. Fusion itself is free for personal, non commercial use, with limits such as a small number of editable documents at a time, which is enough for a chair or a sideboard.
Aimed at makers who plan to cut parts on a CNC or hand a file to a shop, and at anyone who wants parametric changes instead of redrawing. The learning curve is steeper than SketchUp, the interface changes with updates, and the free personal licence has to be renewed. Official certification exams are paid.
