A San Diego brand that has been building strollers since 2006 with an unusual obsession: fabrics. Its textiles use recycled PET yarn, avoid added flame retardants and carry third party certification, which is rare in a category where nobody reads the label. The Indie is the all terrain workhorse with air filled tyres, the Era covers urban routes, and the Speed is aimed at running. Frames accept bassinets and common infant car seats through adapters.
Sensible for parents who care what a child breathes and leans against for two years, and for anyone pushing on gravel or packed sand. Less sensible for tiny lifts and cramped hallways, since the all terrain models are wide and the folded frame is chunky. Air tyres mean an occasional pump and the odd puncture, and the brand is far easier to find in North America than elsewhere.
