Byline is a Chicago bank with roughly nine billion dollars in assets and branches across the Chicago and Milwaukee metros. Its small business arm, Byline Small Business Capital, is one of the busiest SBA 7(a) lenders in the United States by number of loans approved, and it works well below the ticket sizes that many national banks bother with. Alongside government guaranteed credit there is equipment leasing, commercial real estate lending, treasury management and merchant services.
The combination of a real branch counter and a national SBA desk is the draw: an Illinois or Wisconsin owner can deposit cash on Saturday morning and finance an acquisition through the same institution. Outside those two states the relationship is remote. Account fees are ordinary for a bank of this size, so read the schedule before opening anything more than basic checking.
