The Central States Numismatic Society has held its annual spring convention for 87 years, and in recent years it has settled at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center in suburban Chicago. The 2026 show ran April 22 to 25, opening with PNG Dealer Day for the trade before the public days, and the 88th convention is already set for April 21 to 24, 2027. Collectors' exhibits, museum displays from Midwest institutions and free souvenir coins for visitors are regular features.
Admission is $15 a day or $30 for a three-day pass, with a $5 discount for tickets bought online; CSNS members and visitors 17 and under enter free, and in 2025 the doors opened free to everyone from Saturday noon. That makes a membership the obvious choice for anyone planning to stay more than a day. The show is heavy on U.S. material and experienced dealers, so newcomers may find the pace brisk.
