Doona solves one specific problem: getting a sleeping baby out of a car without waking them. Its infant car seat unfolds into a stroller in a couple of seconds, wheels tucking under the shell when the seat goes back in the base. The whole thing weighs around 7 kg, fits taxis and plane cabins on many airlines, and removes the usual pushchair plus car seat juggling act. The newer version extends the usable period, and the same company also sells the Liki folding trike.
Brilliant for city taxis, airports and hospital discharge day, and pointless as a family's only stroller: the seat is outgrown within roughly the first year, the recline is fixed at car seat angle, and long walks are uncomfortable for the child. Storage is minimal without the add on bags, and the price per month of use is high unless it is genuinely used every day.
