Eargo is a California hearing health company, started in 2010 by ENT surgeon Florent Michel with his son Raphael and Daniel Shen, built around one idea: a rechargeable hearing aid small enough to sit inside the canal and sold straight to the wearer, no clinic visit. Flexi tips keep the canal open instead of plugging it. The lineup runs from the flagship Eargo 8 at about $2,699 a pair to the SE near $1,700 and Eargo Link, a Bluetooth model launched in January 2025. Patient Square Capital took it private in 2024, and in March 2025 it merged with hearX into LXE Hearing, next to the Lexie brand.

Suits adults with mild to moderate high frequency loss who want something invisible and will pay for comfort plus remote support from licensed staff. Wrong pick for severe loss, for tight budgets when decent OTC aids sell under $1,000, or for anyone wanting a replaceable battery: the cells are sealed in.
