Gotta Groove opened in a Cleveland industrial building in 2009 and aimed straight at independent artists, the customers most big factories were turning away. Runs in the low hundreds are normal, pricing is published openly, and the shop is known for colour work: splatter, galaxy effects, black ice and other one off variants that get decided during the pour.
The team answers by name, sends test pressings and posts art templates and turnaround times publicly, which removes a lot of guesswork for a first release. Trade offs are the ones you would expect from a mid size plant: capacity is finite, seasonal queues before Record Store Day get long, and there is no bookbinding or box making department, so elaborate packaging has to be sourced separately.
