GQ Electronics works out of Seattle and has been building radiation and field instruments since 2010, including Geiger counters. The EMF-390 reads magnetic field, electric field and radio frequency up to 10 GHz, and it logs everything to internal memory with a time stamp every second. That log can be pulled to a computer with free software from the maker. There is also an RF browser and a spectrum view, which shows what is actually crowding the air in the building.
For a night investigation the logging is the real argument. You can walk a house first, record a baseline, then compare it with what happened during the session instead of trusting memory. It is a busy device though: several screens, several button presses, and a menu that takes an evening at the kitchen table to learn. People who want one glance and a light will find it fussy.
