HireAChef is the public directory of the United States Personal Chef Association, so it lists working chefs rather than selling meals itself. A search by postcode returns local personal chefs with their certifications, cuisines, insurance status and whether they take weekly meal prep as opposed to events only. Contact goes straight to the chef, and the price is agreed between the two sides with no platform markup.
That directness is the main reason to use it: rates are usually lower than on commission based marketplaces, and an independent chef will bend the menu to a macro plan or a medical diet without arguing. The flip side is admin. There is no central support desk, no guaranteed replacement if a chef cancels, and profiles differ in how much detail they carry, so a few phone calls are part of the process.
