Hudson Valley Seed Company
Started in 2008 as a seed library inside a public library in the Hudson Valley, now a certified organic farm and mail order company in Accord, New York. Much of the seed is grown on their own ground, the rest bought from regional organic growers, and the varieties are picked for Northeast conditions. The signature is the Art Pack: each year artists are commissioned to illustrate a variety, and the packet folds open into a small print, which is why these end up as gifts as often as garden supplies.
Fits gardeners in the Northeast who want organic, regionally grown seed and do not mind paying more for it. The Art Packs cost noticeably more than plain packets for the same seed, so a large vegetable plot gets expensive fast. The list covers the standard vegetables and a solid flower range, but it is not a rarity hunter's catalog.
