Toronto designer Izzy Camilleri began cutting for seated bodies in 2009, after making a coat for a client who used a wheelchair, and the label grew out of that pattern work. Everything is drafted for sitting from the start: coats short at the back so fabric does not bunch on the seat, trousers with no rear pockets and a longer back rise, higher fronts on tops, magnetic and hook closures at the shoulder or side.
The tailoring is the reason to pay more, and prices are well above supermarket clothing. Suits full time wheelchair users who want office or evening clothes that hang properly while seated, rather than someone needing a quick pack of easy trousers. Made in small runs, so a size can be out of stock for weeks, and ambulant buyers will find the cut wrong when standing.
