JPF Pétanque is the brand of Jean-Pierre Féniello, based near Cavaillon in the Vaucluse. It is one of the smaller names on the FIPJP list, with two labels, JPF Carbone Acier and JPF Inox. The making is unusual: the two half shells are screwed into each other before welding, which the brand offers as its answer to boules that split at the seam. The newest batch is a black stainless alloy, half soft, given at 120 to 125 kg/mm2, and it keeps its dark colour instead of turning grey.
This is a boule for a player who likes buying from a workshop rather than a factory, and who does not mind a catalogue of two models. The company also travels to tournaments with a stand and runs petanque holidays in Spain, so many buyers meet the brand in person. Outside France the boules are hard to find, and the website carries little detail in English.
