LandWatch is one of the oldest rural property listing sites in the US. CoStar Group bought it in 2017 and made it part of the Land.com network, next to Land And Farm and Land.com itself. The site carries hundreds of thousands of land listings nationwide, and its owner financing filter alone shows well over ten thousand parcels. Searches can be narrowed by state, county, price, acreage and activity tags such as off-roading, and many cheap desert and mountain lots in the listings are sold by investors who say outright that the land suits off-grid living.
This is a good first stop for a buyer who wants the widest possible choice and is fine sorting through it. A large share of the listings are small investor lots with a low deposit and monthly payments, so it pays to read the details: road access, water source, HOA status and county rules on living in an RV or a cabin. The site does not sell the land itself, so all questions go to the seller.
