LDH Scissors began in 1990 in Shenzhen, started by a couple who simply wanted better sewing scissors, and since 2018 the family business has been run from Toronto. The left-handed collection is not a mirrored handle trick: blades and handles are both swapped, so a left hand sees the cutting line. Sizes run from 8 inch lightweight scissors at about $20 to the 10 inch Midnight Edition shears around $60, in stainless and carbon steel. Every pair carries a lifetime manufacturer warranty, and the company sharpens its own scissors.
Best for people who sew, quilt or cut leather and want industrial grade weight in the hand. For paper, school projects and light craft the 10 inch models feel heavy and clumsy. Prices are listed in USD, US quilt shops stock the brand, but popular left-handed sizes go out of stock for weeks at a time.
