Martin Archery
Martin Archery has been building bows since 1951, when Gail Martin started out in Walla Walla, Washington. The company bought Damon Howatt Archery in 1976, and in its best years the Walla Walla plant turned out tens of thousands of bows annually. That plant closed in 2017 and the assets were sold; the brand now works out of Jeffersonville, Georgia, with compound and takedown models such as the FireCat series. In October 2025 Martin picked up the assets of Obsession Bows.
Sales run through dealers, with a store locator on the site plus ProStaff and HuntStaff programs. The shop also does string and cable replacement, limb and cam repair and tuning. Owners of older Martin bows should ask about parts before counting on a repair, because the ownership changes left gaps. Anyone after the classic Damon Howatt recurves has to look elsewhere: that brand was split off and runs on its own.
