The Michigan State Numismatic Society holds its convention twice a year, a spring show and a fall show that lands close to Thanksgiving weekend. The fall edition reaches its 70th year in 2026. The bourse is mid-sized, about 120 to 125 dealer tables of US and world coins, paper money, bullion and numismatic books. The show has moved around the Detroit area over the years, with recent editions at the Oakland Expo Center in Waterford and at Macomb Community College in Warren.
The public pays nothing for admission or parking, but you register at the desk with a photo ID. Early birds pay $50 to get onto the floor before the public. Beyond the tables there are judged educational exhibits, seminars, club meetings and a free kids' program on Saturday. It suits Midwest collectors who like a friendly regional show. Anyone expecting FUN or ANA crowds and big auction lots will find it a smaller room, and it makes sense to check the venue on the site before driving out.
