Ocean Enterprises has been family owned in San Diego since 1979 and occupies a large space on Balboa Avenue, ten minutes from La Jolla Shores. It carries equipment from more than a hundred manufacturers, runs PADI courses from Open Water through instructor level, keeps a repair department for regulator and BCD overhauls, rents full sets, fills tanks and organises dive travel for groups. Staff certify hundreds of Southern California divers each year.
Solid choice for a beginner who wants classes, gear and service from one place, and for a visitor renting a kit for kelp diving. Pricing follows manufacturer retail, so the same regulator can be cheaper on a discount site, though warranty and local service come with the shop. One location, and course weekends make the store busy.
