OMP started in Genoa in 1973 and today sits in the same group as Bell. Its kart helmets, the GP-R K and the KJ family, cover Snell K2020 for adults and CMR2016 for children. Shells are fiberglass or carbon composite, the visor is scratch resistant, and the liner lifts out for a wash. Prices land under Arai and Stilo, which is why club teams and kart schools buy them by the box.
A good step up from a rental lid, and an easy match if the suit, gloves and rib protector are already OMP. Vents on the cheaper shells are fixed, so a hot August afternoon feels hot. Finish is neat but plain, and custom paint means going to an outside shop.
