For rural owners in those two states this is often the most realistic source of bank credit, and the underwriting takes local conditions into account rather than applying a metropolitan template. Anyone outside the footprint gains little. Branch hours in smaller towns are short, and the online banking experience lags what a digital first competitor offers.
