The annual show of the Texas Numismatic Association takes place in May at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, and for collectors in Texas and the southern states it is the main event of the spring. The bourse runs to roughly 200 dealer booths according to the show announcements, with adult and youth exhibits, a youth auction, a book auction, a Scouting merit badge program and a gold coin raffle.
The show leans toward a community feel: members compete in exhibits, and prizes and recognition are part of the program. Dealers can pay an early bird fee to enter during Thursday setup, a hint that the best material changes hands before the public arrives. For visitors from the coasts it is a long trip for a regional show, but for Texans it saves a flight to a national convention.
