The newest name on this list, founded in 2021 by a group of Twin Cities designers and builders after the Guthrie closed its rental operation to the public. The Northeast Minneapolis warehouse covers roughly 14,000 square feet with more than 2,200 linear feet of hanging costumes, over 30,000 items counted, including donated Guthrie stock and the purchased inventory of Brian Berberich's Theatrical Costume Company. Periods run from ancient Greece through the twentieth century, plus a substantial distressed rack.
Renters pull from the racks with staff help, one costume or a full show, and shipping is available beyond the metro. Theater, dance and film companies use it alongside ordinary party guests. What it does not offer yet is a show by show plot library with a costumer assigned to your production, so a director without a designer does more of the thinking. The entrance sits at the back of the building by the railroad tracks.
