Toro Petank started in April 2016, founded by Patrick Messonnier, twice winner of the Mondial la Marseillaise. The boules are made in France and approved for competition by the FIPJP. The range stays short: a carbon steel model at about 110 kg/mm2, a stainless model near 120, and the 119 and 119+ in carbon at 119 kg/mm2, sold smooth or with the striping the brand copied from a tennis ball. The bull head logo is the other signature. A stainless set of three runs about 189 euros, with a one year guarantee.
Players who point and shoot in turn tend to get on well with the 119, half soft and steady on most grounds. Someone hunting a very soft boule for pure shooting has little to choose from here. The shop also sells jacks, bags, caps and club clothing, and delivery runs through Colissimo, so buyers outside France should check postage before ordering.
