TripIt
TripIt has been ordering travel confirmations since 2007 and now belongs to SAP Concur. The core trick stays refreshingly dull: forward a booking email to [email protected] and the parser turns flights, hotels, car rentals and restaurant reservations into one chronological itinerary, available offline and shareable by link or calendar feed. Nothing has to be typed twice.
The Pro subscription adds real time flight alerts, alternative flight search when a leg collapses, seat and fare monitoring and loyalty point tracking across programmes. What TripIt does not do is sightseeing: there is no place database and no map based day builder, so choosing what to see still happens elsewhere. It suits frequent flyers and business travellers far better than someone sketching a first road trip.
