Unibloc is a small Italian workshop near Turin, in business since 1977, first with bronze bocce for the Lyonnaise game and later with petanque. The name explains the method: each boule is made from one single block of bronze, not from two steel shells welded together. Two models carry FIPJP approval, the ETR and the golden coloured ETR OR, sold in diameters around 71 to 76 mm and weights from roughly 660 to 750 g. A set of three costs about 160 to 240 euros depending on model and finish.
Bronze is soft, so the boules sit down quickly and bounce very little, which pointers like on hard ground. They never rust. They also mark fast, they feel dead to players used to hard steel, and the price is high for a brand with only two models. Ordering from outside the European Union means writing to the workshop first.
