Windscribe is a Canadian VPN known for a free plan that is actually usable: 10 GB a month after confirming an email address, with servers in 10 countries. The Pro plan costs $9 a month or $69 a year with unlimited connections. Build-A-Plan is its unusual third option: $1 per location per month, with a $3 minimum, and each location adds 10 GB of data on top of the free allowance.
Build-A-Plan fits a very specific player well: someone who only needs a US East and a Japan server for two games and does not want to pay for a whole global network. Pro users can also buy static IPs, which support port forwarding for hosting. The drawbacks are real, though. The 10 GB cap disappears quickly with game downloads, the network is smaller than the big three, and the long-term Pro price is higher than the deepest discounts elsewhere.
