The Premium R-76-1 is the middle model in the AQUATEK regulator line, sitting between the Basic R-76 and the flowmeter equipped Deluxe R-76-4. It uses a brass body, an integrated cool touch solenoid that stays cool during long photoperiods, dual gauges reading in psi and kg per square centimetre, and a precision needle valve for slow bubble rates. It also accepts the brand's SplitPro manifolds, so one cylinder can serve up to six diffusers.

Well suited to aquarists who plan to expand to several tanks later, or who mix planted tanks with a calcium reactor. Aquascapers chasing the flattest possible pressure curve will prefer a dual stage unit, since this is a single stage design. Cylinder, tubing and diffuser are separate, and the tank washer should be replaced whenever the regulator is remounted.
