Snell SA2020 is the badge most American club karting and track day organisers want on the certificate, and the K.1 Pro is Bell's least expensive route to it. The shell is fibreglass composite, the liner is fire retardant and removable, and terminals for head and neck restraint tethers are fitted from the factory. Air moves through Bell's concentric channels with a top scoop, and the eyeport is cut wide enough for a clear view from a low kart seat.
Because SA helmets carry flame resistant padding and thicker trim, the K.1 Pro weighs noticeably more than a CMR kart lid, which tells over a hot afternoon of heats. It fits a driver who races both a kart and a car and would rather own one helmet. Anyone entering CIK-FIA junior classes still needs a CMR helmet, since SA certification is not accepted there.
