Brand: Escape Room in a Box: The Werewolf Experiment
The most physical box on this list. Nineteen puzzles in 2D and 3D, three real locks, a wooden crate feel to the props, plus optional voice hints through Amazon Alexa. Two to eight players from age 13, about 60 to 90 minutes under a one hour target. The story is a mad scientist and a werewolf serum, played with a light touch rather than horror. Usual price is around 30 dollars.
Some parts are used up during play, but Mattel offers a free printable reset kit, so the box can be handed to another group with a little work. Large groups fit here, which is rare in this genre, though eight people around a few small puzzles means someone will stand back and watch. Padlocks and keys need clear table space. Not the one for players who want a deep story, the pull is the hands on gear.
