This one began as a crowdfunded project and was later picked up by Mattel, which is why it turns up in supermarkets. Three real padlocks sit in the box alongside printed props, and the mission runs about 90 minutes for two to eight players. The original voice assistant hint system has quietly faded, but the printed hint cards cover the same ground without any hardware.
Turning a physical lock is a different feeling from typing a code, and that is the reason to pick this over a card deck. Set against that: stickers and folded parts mean a single play, the boxes are big for what they contain, and difficulty is moderate rather than cruel. Flashback is the second title in the range. Both work best with a crowd that wants noise, movement and something to open.
