Eton's Odyssey is the maximalist take: AM and FM with RDS station text, shortwave, NOAA weather with alert standby, Bluetooth for music, and five ways to feed it. The solar panel fills the lithium cell in ten to twelve hours, four minutes of cranking buys ten to fifteen minutes of listening, USB-C tops it up from a power bank, and three AAA alkaline cells give an instant fallback. A 5V 2.1A USB output charges a phone, and the multi function light covers flashlight and beacon duty. Eton started out in 1986 building Grundig shortwave sets.
Fits a household that wants one shelf device for camping, blackouts and evening listening. Bulky for a small pack, and the feature stack means more buttons to learn. No SAME county filtering, so alerts cover the whole transmitter footprint.
