Honeycomb Aeronautical launched the Alpha in 2019 and moved the mid range bar: full 180 degree rotation, a steel shaft on ball bearings, self centering springs and hall effect sensors instead of cheap pots. The yoke sits on an integrated switch panel with a five position ignition key, master and alternator switches, magneto positions and a row of light switches, so a Cessna style cold start happens without touching the keyboard. Connection is USB-C, PC and Mac both work, and the weight keeps the unit planted.
It fits simmers flying general aviation and student pilots drilling procedures at home. There is no throttle quadrant and no trim wheel, that is what the Bravo unit is for, and the desk clamp wants a sturdy table because the yoke is tall. Some owners report roll axis calibration quirks that firmware updates and recalibration usually settle.
