The fourth generation of the Litter-Robot arrived in 2022 and stays the reference point for automatic boxes. A rotating globe sifts clumps into a sealed drawer after every visit, so waste is out of sight and the drawer gets emptied roughly once a week for one cat. Sensors track cat weight and visit count and send it to the Whisker app, and the OdorTrap filter sits in the lid. It runs on clumping litter, plugs into a wall outlet and comes with a 90 day in home trial plus an 18 month warranty.

It suits people who travel, work long shifts or simply hate scooping, and multi cat homes up to about four cats. The price is the obvious barrier, and the drawer liners, filters and optional ramp add to it. Very large cats over 20 pounds and kittens under three months should use a normal pan first.
