The largest of the Eglu coops, built from twin wall insulated polyethylene with a draught free ventilation system, roosting bars and a nesting area at the back. Slide out droppings trays and a lift off roof section reduce cleaning to a scrape and a rinse, and the smooth plastic denies red mites the crevices they need. Capacity is around six large hens or up to ten bantams, and the raised house sits above an attached run.
It appeals to keepers who prize hygiene, insulation and a long service life over traditional looks, and it holds resale value unusually well. The barrier is cost: an Eglu Cube runs several times the price of a comparable wooden coop. Optional wheel handles and run extensions add more again, and the moulded parts limit how much a buyer can modify.
