PocketBook opens around twenty formats out of the box, including EPUB, FB2, MOBI, DjVu, CBZ and PDF, so nothing needs converting first. Bluetooth handles headphones for audiobooks and the built in text to speech engine reads aloud in several languages.
The format list is the reason to choose it: mixed libraries collected over years open without a single conversion step. Availability in the United States runs through eBay sellers and importers rather than the big retailers, warranty service is awkward outside Europe, and the interface looks plainer than Kindle or Kobo software.
