The stainless version of Sela's Harmony handpan measures 23 inches across, wears a matte gold finish and is tuned to D Amara at 440 Hz: D3 plus A3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4 and C5. Padded nylon bag and cotton gloves come with it, and US retail prices sit close to $2,035. Stainless holds a much longer sustain than nitrided steel and shrugs off rust.
That long tail is the character trait to think about. For slow meditative playing and sound baths it is exactly right, and the sensitive response means light hands get a full note. Play fast and the notes start to overlap, so damping technique matters. The 23 inch shell is also a touch bigger to carry than the common 22 inch format, worth checking against any stand or case bought separately.
