The MatePad 11.5"S is built around the PaperMatte screen. The glass is etched at nano level, so it cuts most of the glare and feels like paper under the stylus. The panel is 11.5 inches, 2.8K, with a refresh rate up to 144Hz. The body is metal, close to 6.1 mm thick and about 515 g. HarmonyOS runs the show. Huawei Notes is preinstalled and handles handwriting, formula recognition and note replay. In Europe the bundle with the M-Pencil and the Smart Keyboard lands near 500 euro, and both accessories are already in the box.
Good pick for a student who writes a lot by hand: mock tests, formulas, short summaries. The matte layer helps when a lamp or a window sits behind the desk. The weak spot is software. Google services are absent, apps come from AppGallery, so a course app or a proctoring client may simply be missing. Check the app list first, buy second.
