Bortnikoff
Artisan house run single handed by Dmitry Bortnikov, working with naturals, own tinctures and oud he distils himself. Everything happens in drops: a batch is announced, sold on the site in a few days, and then it is gone for good. Bottles are small, often 30 ml, hand labelled and numbered, and the raw materials list explains the price, real agarwood, aged sandalwood, animalic tinctures used sparingly.
This is for collectors who already know what oud smells like and want the strong stuff, not for a first niche purchase. There is no permanent catalogue, so a favourite may never return. Batches differ, samples are limited, and the queue on release day is real. Everything is bought straight from the maker, which keeps the price honest for what is inside but also means no shop to try it in first.
