Extech Instruments, now part of the Teledyne FLIR family, sells test gear to electricians and building inspectors, and the 480826 is its plain low frequency field meter. It covers the mains band, roughly thirty to three hundred hertz, and shows the result in milligauss or microtesla on a small digital display. There is a data hold button and nothing else to distract you. It arrives with a manual and a battery, and spares are easy to find because the brand is stocked by industrial suppliers.
For ghost hunting it plays the boring but useful role: checking wiring, panels and appliances before the session so a normal field is not mistaken for something else. The reading is single axis, the refresh is slower than the LED toys, and there is no alarm, no backlight and no logging. Investigators who want drama on camera should look elsewhere.
